This is a rich and complex wine with layers of flavour and soft, fine, well-structured tannins. The wine shows a brick red colour with a rich and complex nose prominent in blackcurrant, tobacco and typical leafy characters with hints of game. Wine industry pioneer and Woodstock’s founding father, Doug Collett made McLaren Vale Grenache and Shiraz fortifieds in the 1960’s and 1970’s. He aged them in old Brandy barrels for future generations. Today, his son Scott Collett, continues the fortified tradition at Woodstock with this fine example of an Australian style ‘Tawny Port’.
