Two vineyards were established in the Bendigo sub-region: The Prophets Rock Home Vineyard and, subsequently, the Rocky Point. Both are steep and elevated, and each is distinctive The Home Vineyard with its rare mix of soils, including schist,clay and chalk, and Rocky Point with its stony ground and almost treacherous slopes.A wide spectrum of aromatics from pear and white peach, citrus, quince and spice notes with an underlying minerality. These aromas are echoed on the palate, highlighted by crisp acidity and a long finish. The texture, freshness and concentrated aromatics mean that this wine will harmonise will with a wide range of dishes. 2017 Foggy Hill Pinot Noir is an exquisite expression of this unique very cool maritime terroir. The colour has a lovely intense purple hue. The aromatics are delicate and floral with spice but the profound underlying terroir expression is of complex ripe strawberry puree and a hint of earth. It has moderate alcohol and finely textured structure. The flavours float on water not alcohol. The best expression of Foggy Hill terroir yet.

The grapes for the wines that carry the Mt Difficulty Bannockburn label are subject to two strict criteria: they are managed under the umbrella of the Mt Difficulty viticultural team and must be sourced from vineyards situated on the South side of the Kawarau River at Bannockburn. This Pinot noir displays lovely elegance and flow with striking precision and clarity. On the palate it kicks off with a supple dark berry entry, moving into a beautifully textured plush mid palate, after which fine elegant textural tannins frame fruit and acidity on a lengthy finish.
