Woodlands were one of the 'first wave' of wineries to set up in the Margaret River in the early 1970s and today that heritage is in the capable hands of Andrew and Stuart Watson, sons of the pioneering David. Our 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon has an intense crimson colour. The nose reveals aromas of mixed spices, dark fruits, and toasty French oak. The palate is deep and powerful; showing a ripe spectrum of red to dark fruits combined with star anise, clove, and allspice. The finish is incredibly long, with firm but fine tannins. We consider our 2010 vintage to be the most complete and complex Cabernet Sauvignon produced at Woodlands.

Since 1992, Madfish have been producing an exciting range of contemporary, cool climate wines inspired by the wild, coastal and pure characterises of Australia's South West. Our first Cabernet Merlot was produced in 1982. We have always felt that the Merlot grape variety enhanced the Cabernet and in this case at 29%, the Merlot is more than a bit player. Indeed tasters sometimes suggest that the Merlot is dominant, with its velvety, rounded character. Merlot extends the flavour, enhances the finish and performs in a very positive fashion.
