This new release from renowned Rioja producer Marques de Riscal marks a stylistic evolution in the estates signature style. An atypical crianza from the heart of the Rioja Alavesa region, this Tempranillo expresses all its fruitiness and youthfulness, with a moderate presence of wood that provides good balance and persistence. El Pillo is a very brave young man, with a haughty disposition and who, on a moonless night, wanted to pay tribute to all the farmers by making the skies burn. That September night and in the middle of the harvest, El Pillo stole some explosives from a tunnel under construction and using cardboard reels he assembled a hundred and one rockets. At midnight, and after continuously ringing the church bells, he launched his entire arsenal from its highest point. No one would forget the darkness broken into pieces by that lavish flash of lights and colors. The brightness lasted so long that all the farmers saw from afar for the first and last time the beauty and nocturnal splendor of their vineyards. This wine honors all of that. Cherry garnet in color, this wine stands out for its ripe red fruit aromas and a flavorful, powerful, and expressive palate where the fruit reappears alongside hints of roasted notes.

High up in the Adelaide Hills, Paracombe is owned and operated by the Drogemuller family, which it has passionately done since 1983. Sourced from both estate and selected grower fruit, Paracombe Shiraz shows wonderful ripe fruit aromas with a delicate cool-climate aspect.
