Casa Castillo El Molar Garnacha, Jumilla Casa Castillo El Molar Garnacha Jumilla is borne of sandy clay and gravel, differentiating itself from the pack by virtue of its Garnacha makeup. Hand-harvested and fermented wild in concrete, with a finishing of 14 months in assorted large format French wood. With consistent scores in the mid-90s across vintages from the Wine Advocate and James Suckling, this rich wine bares a striking resemblance to the brawn, core of kirsch, tapenade accents and long-limbed garrigue-soaked tannins of fine Châteauneuf du Pape, at a fraction of the price. It is now wonder, as the fragmented rocky soils are virtually interchangeable.

Barbadillo, established in 1821, continue to be a very important Sherry producer from within the 'Jerez Triangle' in south-western Spain. Well known for high class, quality Sherry's, this Cuco Oloroso is made in a slightly different way than what is considered the norm. An oxidative process is used to develop the nutty, complex characters into the wine instead of the usual Flor yeast system. This produces an intensely flavoured Oloroso with a rich and smooth texture and dominant walnut notes. The finish covers the palate with a dense, velvet like feel.

Barbadillo and their quality Sherry's have been an integral part of the Jerez region since 1821. Located in the south-western area of Spain and apart of the all important 'Jerez Triangle', Barbadillo provide not only some of the very best Sherry here in Australia, but some of the best value for money. This Principe Amontillado is a quirky style that is in fact a fortified aged Manzanilla. Plenty of spice, hazelnut and almond meal characters. The finish is wonderfully long and exceptionally rich for an Amontillado.

Pinot Noir is loved for its red fruit, flower, and spice aromas that are accentuated by a long, smooth finish. The Tina Fuerza Pinot Noir delivers on this promise and the wine is fresh and deliciously moorish. It sees no oak ageing making it a light and refreshing wine. A very versatile food pairing wine given it’s natural acidity and lower tannin pairing particularly well with duck and mushroom dishes.

The Navarra region is located in the north of Spain, at the Western end of the Pyrenees. This particular wine comes from the Ribera Baja subzone at the southern end of Navarra and is a bright and expressive example of Spanish Tempranillo, full of red fruit and elegant, spicy notes and a rich, plush mouthfeel from a smidge of Merlot in the blend. Outstanding value.

This new release from renowned Rioja producer Marques de Riscal marks a stylistic evolution in the estates signature style. An atypical crianza from the heart of the Rioja Alavesa region, this Tempranillo expresses all its fruitiness and youthfulness, with a moderate presence of wood that provides good balance and persistence. A fresh, fruity wine with a flavour profile reminiscent of red fruits subtly accompanied by aromas of wood, coconut and vanilla. Full on the palate, persistent and with character, a true reflection of the personality of the grapes from this terroir.
