Deep rich red showing a youthful purple rim. Lifted notes of blackberry, chocolate and spice, with secondary characters of blueberry, leather and soy provides a complex and intense introduction to the wine. The palate is full bodied, displaying classic spice and ripe berry notes, integrated oak and concentration for which Australian Shiraz is renowned. It has spice and savoury notes with plentiful ripe succulent tannins on the finish.

Bright dark black garnet colour. Lively, spicy aromas and flavours of blackberry pie a la mode, spicy praline, and mole with an oily, tangy, dry-yet-fruity medium-full body and a warming, subtle, breezy spiced cherries, chocolate mint and nuts, and cedar finish with firm, chewy tannins and moderate oak.

Chris Hatcher of 'Hatch Wines' has been a winemaker for almost 50 years including more than 35 years at Wolf Blass, 27 as Chief Winemaker. Hatch McLaren Vale Vesey Shiraz is a powerful, rich and plush wine with great vibrance and purity. Geoff Merrill Reserve Shiraz displays a deep red colour. The wine is packed with red berry, chocolate, leather and earthy characters. The palate is luxurious and generous before revealing the great structure underneath. Having undergone extended maturation first in barrel and then in bottle, the drink has become elegant and sophisticated.
