The fruit for this distinctive Argentinian malbec was sourced from Agrelo and Lulunta. Agrelo is situated 35 km south of the city of Mendoza. It's terroir is considered to be some of the best for the production of richly flavoured malbec. Lulunta is a sub-region of the famous Mendoza area. It too has a reputation for producing malbecs of quality.The wine remains unoaked to allow the freshness and vibrancy of the deeply flavoured dark fruit to shine.

It has a bright ruby red colour. It has a well-defined and persistent nose. It also has notes of plums and figs combined with the vanilla notes from oak ageing, making the wine pleasant and subtle. It is sweet and dense on the palate with an attractive mineral taste. It has a long and persistent finish with the delicate flavour of sweet blackberries. It is ideal to pair with red meats, game and gourmet dishes.

A full flavoured wine with lower alcohol and reduced calories this wine can be enjoyed at any occasion. Tasting notes - Black Cherries and Red Berry notes complemented by delicate spice and soft juicy mouthfeel.

The superb wines are made by Todd Payne who has had “a distinguished career, starting in the Great Southern, then the Napa, Plantagenet, Esk Valley in Hawke’s Bay, and on to the Northern Rhône” (Halliday). This is a beautifully expressive wine. Inky, rich and herbal Cabernet melds with plummy, velvety, mouthfilling Merlot to create a really layered and complex wine you want to keep on sipping.

This unique Fleurieu Malbec with its distinctive purple colour and intense fruit brightness of red plums, blueberries and undertones of cocoa creates a stylish textural style. The black fruit power provides mouth filling richness with persistent mouth coating tannins.
