Schild Estate Old & Survivor Vine Barossa Valley Grenache 2019 The Old & Survivor Vine 2019 Barossa Valley Grenache is firmly in the red fruit register but at the darker end of the spectrum. Dark cherries and red currants are chaperoned by savoury spice. Slight creamy texture and soft tannins are offset by a bright edge. This isnt an over the top Barossa Grenache, its generous, layered and interesting without being indulgent. The fruit is sourced from two vineyards. The Kleemann Vineyard was established in 1985 at 320m asl on the Eastern Hills overlooking Rowland Flat and are now classified as Old Vines (35 years+). The second vineyard in the blend is the Three Springs. Established at 300m asl, the plot is adjacent to the original Schild family estate in Rowland Flat. The vines are 70+ years old Classified and Survivor Vines. At this altitude, the vines are much lower-yielding and, combined with the decades of growth, produce fruit of great concentration, complexity and character. Schild Estate then realises the potential of the fruit and presents it in this sumptuous 2019 cuvée.

A calling in life, her great reason to live, she takes what she wants but chooses to give. Adrian Hoffmann is the source of the Mourvèdre and Grenache. Old vines, big flavour, just what you would expect from his Ebenezer vineyards. The other part - the Shiraz - has come from Redheads' long-time partner in crime John Kalleske over in Koonunga. Bright, lifted red fruit aromas of sweet cherry and plum combined with floral and turkish delight characters. Subtle savoury notes, dark morello cherry and red plum characters. A mid-weight GSM with softly woven tannins.

Made with fruit from vineyards planted in 1901 and 1906 with maturation taking place in seasoned French oak. Deep dark red purple core with black shaded edges and a red purple tinged hue. Exotic dark raspberry, morello cherry, liquorice and red plum scents flood the nostrils followed by some dried herb and vanillin spice notes. Caressing the succulent, mid weighted palate are dark raspberry, red liquorice and dark cherry fruits with vanillin spice, delicate earth, dried herb and pepper elements lying underneath. Torbreck The Steading is a decadent blend of three traditional Barossa varieties. Grenache and Mataro from old bush vines provide wonderful richness and fruit flavours with only free run Shiraz used to allow the Grenache to shine through.

Cellar 13 Barossa Grenache is a modern Grenache that proves old vines can learn new tricks. Just like the Cellar 13 shed, this Grenache proves that its whats on the inside that counts. A racy palate of vibrant red fruits, with lovely ripe varietal characters with a hint of rose water. Fine dusty tannin from grape skins combine with slight stalk tannin to deliver a fine medium bodied wine with persistence.

The inspiration from the Barossas best old vine Grenache vineyards created Annexus, an addition to the John Duval's Plexus blend. Annexus is a small unique blend selected from their best old low yielding Grenache vineyards, made only in the best years.

Kym Teusner's Joshua is a fresh and lively fruit driven wine produced entirely free from oak influence. The nose offers Summer berries and sweet spice, and the palate is juicy and peppery with a long finish. Superb drinking on its own or with a wide variety of cuisine.

Juveniles is a unoaked blend produced from old vines. Fragrant intense and concentrated it has flavours of blackberry, earth and Asian spices. The length and texture make this great drinking now.
