Peregrine Pinot Gris from Central Otago in New Zealand overflows with ripe pear, peach, mango, grapefruit and has an underlying steely minerality. It is well balanced and mouth filling with great persistence. Lovely drinking now, this wine will continue to develop over the next few years.

A savoury crisp pinot gris from master wine-maker Rob Dolan out of the Yarra Valley. Classic rose petals, melon, guava pear aromas overflowing from the glass. The finish is savoury and long, making this a wonderful food style wine.

Grown in the Waihopai and Awatere Valleys. The Gris has aromas of white fleshed stonefruit and fresh pear, with a little vanilla pod, cardamom and citrus zest. The aroma is very floral and complex offering ripe pear, dried herbs and flint. There is excellent fruit weight and texture on the palate, where the full ripe pear flavours lead to a fresh, spicy and long finish. Our Pinot Gris is made from fruit grown on our Tiger and Sinclair vineyards in the Parkburn area of Cromwell. All the grapes are hand harvested and fermented in small lots in stainless steel tanks helping to retain fruit purity and finesse. The wine is full, dry and textural, it displays excellent fruit structure, intensity and mineral length.

Pronounced La Mas-kera, this label is named after the masks revellers wear at the Carnival of Venice held each year in Italy. In the glass: Pale straw.On the nose: Ripe pear and white melon. On the palate: Plush with a ripe mix of juicy white fruit with hints of stonefruit, a soft mouth-feel and fresh acidity to balance. This is more of a Gris style.

The cuvée is rich in Chardonnay and Pinot Noir – like Champagne – and nearly half the wine is oak fermented – just like Krug! When you ask Alessandro Gallici if he comes from a family of winemakers, he laughs gently at the notion – no, his father was a truck driver. However, he was born in Friuli and his family had a little bit of land and a few rows of vines that had been theirs for generations. They vinified the fruit in a shed just for their own consumption. Now, for a number of years he’s been president of an important local winery, but in 2010 he started up on his own. Made with grapes selected from top areas – Colli Orientali and Grave – this wine delivers delicate pear fruit and crisp minerally ‘zing’. Enjoy solo or match with salads, mushroom ravioli or creamy linguine.

The wine has a mild salmon pink colour which will develop further with time. It shows delicate aromatics of jasmine blossom and ripe melon with a dry palate that has abundant textural flavours of ripe apples and pear. The distinct citrus backbone will ensure the wine rewards aging for at least 5 years.
