Tyrrells had been a well known winery for decades. Its Old Winery Pinot Noir is medium bodied due to the warmer climate in NSW. Attractive cherry and strawberry jams, perfumed spices with restrained oak on the nose. Its smooth texture and chalky tannins certainly leaves a great impression on the palate.

This wine is made with Pinot Noir fruit grown on some spectacular vineyard sites in the Yarra Valley, comprising predominantly MV6 clone, with some 114 and 115. Pacha Mama use minimal additives or fining and aim to let the fruit shine through rather than clobbering all over it with heavy oak use or commercial wine-making techniques. Flavours of sour cherry and wild strawberries carry on to the palate complexed by a savoury spice and intriguing earthiness that lingers long after the last mouthful.

Innocent Bystander eminates from Victoria's Yarra Valley and is the brain child of owner, Phil Sexton. With winemaker Steve Flamsteed on board, the Innocent Bystander wines are fantastically varietal and extremely approachable. Te Kairanga Estate Pinot Noir delivers outstanding varietal character. The nose has cherry fruit with some earthy forest floor aromas and the palate offers lovely mouthfeel delicate strawberry flavours and fresh acidity.

Oyster Bay Pinot Noir is surprisingly a serious complex Pinot. Intense cherry and gamey, earthy notes are enhanced with quality French oak and the finish is spicy savoury and long. Terrific value.

Touches of smoky clove and exotic spice enhance the rich flavours of sweet red plum and black cherry that burst onto the palate. Very fine, supple tannins carry evenly right to the finish.
