This wonderfully elegant Shiraz shows intense, pristine, blackberry fruit and ripe, silky tannins. It almost has a Pinot Noir elegance to it and, luckily, the quality of future vintages will only be getting better too as Voyager's new clones come on line.

Made by iconic winery Howard Park, the fruit for MadFish Gold Turtle Shiraz is sourced from the South West of the state where Shiraz thrives. This wine has sweet berry and spice characters complemented by a touch of white pepper and well handled French oak. Lovely!

Grape variety - 100% Shiraz. Oak maturation - Portions of old and new French oak for 15 months. Colour - Medium-deep red with purple hue. Aroma - The wine opens with lifted spice and pepper with a dusty floral fragrance. There are ripe fruit characters of plum and mulberry with savoury oak. Fleshy red fruits of strawberries are apparent on the nose - this is bright, fresh and very tempting. The red fruited theme continues on the palate with savoury notes keeping the palate balanced. Cleansing acidity creates a crisp and cleansing finish. In typical Rose fashion, extremely moreish!

Margaret River is an under appreciated region for Australian Shiraz, and it's hard to see why with Cape Mentelle's Shiraz showing a vibrant core of blueberry, mulberry and hints of raspberry. It is well balanced with cocoa and savoury oak. The palate yet, is fine, elegant and focussed, finishing with chalky and structural tannins.

This delicious WA Shiraz is beautifully weighted. The lovely rich and spicy berry fruit flavours are balanced by gently drying tannins, and enhanced by light, complex oak characters. It's easy to see why this beautiful Shiraz achieved 92 Halliday points.
