Created in 1962, Penfolds Bin 128 is a regional wine that reflects the unique climate and growing conditions of South Australia’s Coonawarra district and the relatively elegant style of cool-climate Shiraz. From the 1980 vintage, French oak replaced American, highlighting the pepper, spice and floral characteristics that define this style. Since this time, greater attention to fruit flavour ripeness has structurally resulted in a more complete and complex wine style.

Aroma:Intense blackberry, cassis notes balanced wit h dried garden herbs, freshly roasted coffee beans and toasty french oak. Palate: Deep, driving black forest fruits and brooding spice. Cased in beautiful oak notes of baking spices, fresh roast coffee and dark chocolate.Concentrated fruit balanced against bold oak to provide a presence, length, and intensity. Bottled as Orlando St Hugo from the first release in 1980 until 2001. In 2002 this iconic wine changed name and was bottled as Jacob's Creek St Hugo until 2011. Since 2012 the wine is simply labelled as St Hugo.
