Alkina Kin Night Sky Grenache Shiraz Mataro, Barossa Valley The Night Sky is a relaxed red made from certified organic and biodynamic fruit. A Barossa blend of equal parts Grenache and Shiraz, with some savoury Mataro too, the red and black fruits fuse to create a ripe and smooth core that is big but never overbearing. The Alkina Kin range enables the team to develop releases that celebrate local artists whose work features on their stunning labels.

This spicy Barossa blend is based on fruit from mature Grenache vines. Ripe plum aromas jump out of the glass and the palate is rich and fruity with velvety tannins providing a lingering finish.

The three great Barossa red varietals are Mataro, Shiraz and Grenache. Blended well they produce wine full of fruit, complexity, spice, drink-ability and age-ability. These varieties arent afraid of the sun and dry climates, so they thrive in the northern sub-regions of the Barossa. The grapes for this wine are a combination of youngish, mature and older vines, all grown by the Hoffmann family. The Hoffman and OCallaghan family's history of growing grapes and making wines has developed into a strong trust over the decades. Its this long-term commitment, respect for each other, the region, and its people I feel is instrumental to making the Barossa proudly stand out from other wine regions. MUNDA WINES Ngadjuri and Peramangk Country Grenache, Barossa Valley, Eden Valley Munda chooses minimal intervention in the winery, and prefers to bottle relatively early to reflect the brightness of their wines. The use of wild ferment, a combination of older French oak and stainless steel for maturation gives the wine pretty and immediately expressive, multi layered aromas of raspberry, dried cherries, lifted spices and rhubarb. Medium bodied with layers of tannins and savoury earthy flavours balanced with textured waves of spicy fruit. Complex, soft on the palate with a fineness and elegance counterbalanced with generosity and depth of texture that speaks of its munda (land or country).

Château Tanunda Chorus GSM has lifted aromas of blackberry, black cherry and raspberry area accompanied by spicy, dark berry fruits and white pepper on the palate. The finish is long with fine-grained tannins from two years' maturation in a combination of new and seasoned American and French oak barrels. Although drinking well now the wine will benefit from medium-term cellaring.

Light to medium density with bright red hues. Lifted red berry, bramble, cherry fruit notes – very attractive aromas. The palate starts out with crunchy red fruits complimented by the whole bunch used in fermentation and the French oak used. Lovely ripe tannins with a fresh acid backbone to carry the flavours right to the finish. The lingering after taste makes for a very enjoyable Pinot Noir.

GSM is a red wine blended from Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre. Originally from France, this one is an Aussie offering from Barossa. It's fresh and silky with flavours of fresh berries and cherry. Really nice with lamb.

The Torbreck Les Amis Grenache is aged for 18 months in new oak and is a remarkably fragrant wine that shows abundant aromas of spice, cherry and wild raspberry. Textured and plush on the palate, it evolves into layers of blackberry and red currants with firm, ripe tannins. David Powell continues to lead this formidable Barossa wine estate to truly remarkable heights.

Grenache has long been a stalwart of the South Australian wine scene and Penfolds have been blending Grenache with Shiraz since the 1950's. Recent years has seen a growing trend for the luscious perfumed styles like those emanating out of the northern Rhône and the Bin 138 produces a brilliant example. Going from strength to strength, this particular wine is quickly gathering momentum as one of the stand-out releases in the Bin series.<p><b>Please note a limit of 24 bottles per customer</b></p>
