The Tate family are one of the most famous wine names in Western Australia, especially in Margaret River. It was the Tate family who began Evans & Tate decades ago and today the Tate name is re-born under the Franklin Tate Estates label. Franklin, son of John, has sourced some of the most prestigious vineyard sites in Margaret River and has highly regarded winemaker Rory Clifton-Parks to hand-craft the quality wines, like this traditional Chardonnay.

This Madfish Sauvignon Blanc Semillon has alluring aromas of guava, nashi pear, citrus zest with a hint of white floral on the nose. Evans & Tate is arguable the most famous name in Western Australia wine, and now the Tate name has been re-born in the Franklin Tate Estates wines made by esteemed winemaker, Rory Clifton-Parks. Franklin Tate himself has sought out the finest vineyard sites in the Margaret River region to deliver superb, terroir driven, wines that showcase the tradition and longevity of the Tate name, but also a modern and innovative wine-making approach. The Chardonnay was one third fermented in fine French Oak barriques delivery a soft and creamy mouthfeel, yet still with varietal lift and fine acid balance.

Brilliant and very light typical of young Sauvignon Blanc. Pungent, fresh aromas that Sauvignon Blanc from Margaret River is renowned for aromas of gooseberry, lime zest and grass overlaid by freshly cut passionfruit. A juicy, succulent wine that fills the palate with flavour on entry with a long, zippy citric finish.

After decades of strong consistent wines, this is the one Evans & Tate are best known for. The long, dry palate gets a burst of fruit flavour from the 50% Semillon, with Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc adding a layer of depth. Perfect with barbecued seafood.

From the Howard Park stable comes this impressive Chardonnay sourced from Margaret River fruit. The MadFish range by traditional Margaret River producer, Howard Park, is one of great value and regionality. This Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blend is a Western Australian staple with gooseberry flavours along with real citrus zest lift and a cleansing back palate. But it is the complexity in this wine that is truly remarkable and something that isn't often seen in this blend.

Cape Mentelle Sauvignon Blanc Semillon is delicate yet full, the palate is distinctively lemon and lime with subtle star anise, lemongrass and clove. Richness and weight are balanced with fresh acidity, giving direction and finesse.

The Hidden Cave range from Devil's Lair is the chance for the winemakers at this iconic Margaret River winery to express the daring and exciting edge to the regions wines. Their Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is a racy little aromatic white with exotic aromas of crushed basil and lychee that are followed by flavours of gooseberry, mango and passionfruit.
