Old Hands acknowledges that many of the Barossas finestvineyards are owned by long-time grape growers with years ofexperience, often with the benefit of advice from pastgenerations. Made in a generous Barossa style, the aromas ofblackcurrant and violet are complemented by a rich and plushpalate of dark fruits, soft tannin and length of flavour.

The Barossa we love today was heavily influenced by the Barossa Deutsche. Their legacy can still be clearly seen in the patchwork of vineyards across the Valley floor today.Using only fruit from a friends old vines, the 2017 Vintage was matured for 2years in a blend of French and American oak. Black Cherries are apparent on the nose, backed-up on the palate by cassis and spice-laden chocolate. From a stunning Barossa red wine vintage of low yields and exceptional quality one of the greats that produced classic Greenock Creek styled wines of robust flavour and firm structure. The Four Cuttings Cabernet is an extension of our winemaking approach, aiming to capture the particular character of special single vineyard sites. A painstaking exploration of small vineyards across Barossa for sites that best display varietal characters akin to those of our legendary estate wines uncovered The Heidenreich vineyard at Light Pass, planted in the late 1930s. The vineyard produces consistently excellent Cabernet Sauvignon with layers of black fruit, leafy overtones and tobacco notes. As is the Greenock Creek tradition, this wine will reward patience and cellaring, while being deliciously approachable as a young wine.

KRONDORF The Honorary Cabernet Sauvignon, Barossa Valley

In 1983, Hugo Gramp’s legacy was honoured with the release of the first wine named ‘St Hugo’. The addition of the title ‘St’ was inspired by the charming European tradition of naming vineyards after saints to bestow good fortune upon them. Crafted from the outstanding 1980 vintage, the first St Hugo Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon was hailed for its power and elegance, much like the great man himself. Today, more than 30 vintages on, St Hugo continues to set the benchmark for excellence in Australian Cabernet Sauvignon, with every vintage released awarded gold.

The deep purple colour is accentuated by vibrant red hues. This Cabernet Sauvignon is complex, with vibrant flavours of forest berries and plums with underlying savoury notes of spice French oak. The ripe berry characters flow smoothly onto the palate, combining with spices and vanilla oak and soft chewy tannins.
