This wine shows ample varietal blackcurrant flavour seasoned with some attractive sweet oak. The tannins are firm but nicely in balance.

At its core is rich blackcurrant, and dark cherry, beautifully melding with dark chocolate and hints of charry oak with supple underlying tannins. Fresh aromas of strawberries, raspberries, cherries and a nice of cinnamon draw you in, leading to a pretty, finely detailed palate showcasing juicy fruits helmed by tart acidity. Planted in 1946, the old Walton Grenache block is a monument to the history of the Clare Valley. Dry-grown bush vines were planted in terra rossa soils, allowing excellent drainage at elevation and with an aspect which captures the late summer sun. This wine is a pure expression of Clare Valley Grenache. Aromas of strawberry, dark cherries (almost Cherry Ripe), cedar-spice with hints of sandalwood. The palate is silky smooth and vibrant, redolent with red cherries, red plums, blood orange and chocolate. The finish is long, expressive and youthful. Plenty behind it to cellar into the medium term and possibly more. "Youthful, vibrant red in the glass. Exotic aromas of five spice, cola, blueberry, dried herbs and red cherry. The deep and bright plum colour of Sevenhill Inigo Merlot is owed to pampered care, patience and grooming given to this Clare Valley varietal. The captivating bouquet of this delicious wine exudes fragrances of plums and ripe raspberries. The medium-bodied palate is juicy, with a subtle mouthfeel of tannins. The finish is long, marked by flavours of spice and fruitcake on maturation. The wine can be enjoyed young with dishes like Beef Rendang, or beef and olive empanadas.

The fruit for this wine was sourced from premier blocks on the Taylor family estate in the Clare Valley. This is an elegant wine with immediate flavours of boysenberry, blackberry and then more subtle choc-mint and spice. The palate is bright, vibrant and juicy with a precise fine tannin line. The oak maturation brings depth and length to the palate. The wine is very well balanced with well integrated oak and the finish is persistent and imminently enjoyable.

The wine has a seductive, lifted with aroma characterised by plum, blackcurrant and dark cherry fruits along with subtle chocolate and a touch of oak derived spice. The palate is rich, luscious and round with intense, perfectly ripened fruit characters. Mocha coffee and subtle spice characters complement generous fruit flavours of plum and blackberry. The wine is medium to full-bodied with a soft mid-palate and supple tannins. It has a well-balanced structure with great texture, good length and lashings of fruit on the finish.
