Lifted colours of purple and dark crimson in the glass give a preview to the layers of brambly fruit on the nose. Wonderfully composed and sweetly fragrant, the wine shows mixed berry compote, Black Doris plum, cocoa and toasted nut characters on the nose with subtle spicy complexity. Crafted from two unique McLaren Vale vineyards as our celebration of Grenache - 1947 planted Grenache bush vines growing in deep sand and 1990 planted single-wire trellised vines.Medium deep, dark cherry in colour. Lifting fragrant aromas of strawberry/raspberry jujube, rose petal, lavender, cinnamon and star anise. Flavours of dark cherry, pomegranate and chocolate earth flow through the medium weight palate. Fine tannins and natural acidity focus the fruit into the moreish, savoury finish.
