One of the very few examples of Carignan produced in Australia. This is the first release of this wine from Hither & Yon and it's really approachable already.Bright purple in the glass. Perfumed nose of black cherry, plum and black pepper. Light to medium weight with a fresh core of fleshy black fruits and tart red berries with good balance of acid and tannin crunch. An excellent young-drinker.

Made for use as a communion wine, it is suitably soft, sweet and approachable.

Bin 138 is inspired by the wines of Southern Rhône, where Shiraz, Grenache and Mataro are blended to create full-bodied wines. Each year fruit for Bin 138 is sourced from old Barossa Valley vines (some more than 100 years old) and matured for 12 to 15 months in seasoned oak hogsheads to allow the different varietals to shine through. Bin 138 is defined by its distinctive plum, raspberry pastille and underlying spicy notes. The first vintage release of this varietal blend was the 1992, labelled Old Vine Barossa Valley it was then elevated to Bin status for the 1998 vintage. Medium-bodied and refined, expect an initial outer husk of berried flavours followed by a mid-palate burst of fruits. First made commercially available for the 2016 vintage, the Neve is a young wine with character and bite. Named for the lieu-dit on which its reasonably young vines are grown, it is stylishly racy with savoury elements that mingle seductively with bay leaf and lavender. A dry style, it is taut and pretty on the palate, with that long finish so characteristic of Chapoutier.
