The West Winds Gin story began back in 2009 when two mates (James Clarke and Paul 'The Doctor' White) hatched a plan to create unique styles of Australian gin using local and imported botanicals that would be cut with triple filtered Margaret River rain water. Within a month of launching, The West Winds had already made a strong impression on the gin world, winning numerous accolades at the 2011 San Francisco International Spirit Awards. Traditionally favoured by Indigenous societies for their medicinal benefits and protein content, native Green Ants are a unique bush tucker hand harvested in the Northern Territory by the Motlop family of the Larrakia people. The Green Ants display vibrant coriander and kaffir lime leaf flavours, with a citrus and lime burst on the palate further enhanced by Finger Lime. Native Juniper (Boobialla) is evident in the floral, perfumed aromatics, while spicy notes of Pepper Berry balance the citrus flavours.
