Shiraz and Grenache blend beautifully in many of the warmer parts of South Australia. This AAA is Paxton's 9th release, crafted similar to a Rhone-style wine yet it is packed with Au's Terroir. Bright with juicy red berry fruits and spices on the palate with well integrated oak and tannins, giving this wine a remarkable lengthy finish.

Chapel Hill are in the fortunate position to be the custodians of some of the most unique vineyard sites in McLaren Vale; showcased by The Gorge vineyard planted in 1993. With the gently undulating soils, which are derived from prized ancient rock formations, are further enhanced by the elevation as the site perfectly capitalises on the beneficial coastal influence. Carefully selected small parcels of wines have been crafted together to achieve a blend of optimum refinement and seamless structure. Each component adds distinctive characters to the finished wine; A classic bordeaux blend but with full Aussie wine characters. Cabernet Sauvignon boasts its' chewy strong tannins and long length, Cabernet Franc adds structural elegance with lifted ripe berry, whilst Merlot adds a soft velvety texture to the mid palate and a softness to the finish.
