Hentley Farm is a boutique, single estate vineyard that focuses on producing premium quality single-estate and single-block wines reflective of their exceptional Barossan terrior. 'The Marl' takes its name from the fruit grown on red clay loam over marl (a friable earthy deposit consisting of clay and limestone) which reduces the water and nutrient availability producing low crops and rich flavours. True to the style, the Shiraz is layered with berry fruits with hints of dark chocolate, earth and subtle spice. While full-bodied the palate is soft with lovely lingering finish.

Head Wines was started in 2006 by Alex Head. It focuses on single site Rhône varietals from the Barossa and Eden Valleys in South Australia. Head Red is a barrel cull from Barossa vineyards including 'The Blonde', 'The Brunette' and The Contrarian single vineyard Shiraz wines. It allows a pre-view of the vintage quality to come and keeps the quality of the Single vineyard wines as high as possible. The wine receives 12 months barrel age in predominantly older French hogsheads allowing the vintage and terroir to show clearly. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Grenache was hand-picked specifically for the production of rose. The fruit was crushed and macerated for 2 hours to increase colour pick-up as well as some natural fruit tannin. The must was then gently pressed to liberate the juice, and then 80% was fermented in stainless steel at cool temperatures to retain delicate fruit aromas. The balance was drained to old oak hogsheads where the juice underwent a natural fermentation and subsequent maturation on full lees for 5 months before blending and bottlingTasting EvaluationColour: Bright, pale salmon with copper highlights.Aroma: Subtle scents of cantaloupe, red currant, wild strawberry, Morello cherry and freshly grated ginger, pink peppercorn coupled with underlying gunflint aroma.Palate: Red apple skin, ruby grapefruit and rhubarb flavours abound with textural fruit sweetness, balanced with fine fruit phenolics with crunchy apple acid focus. For years the Tscharke family has tended their premium Barossa vineyards to supply grapes to famous Penfolds. Today, however, Damien Tscharke is keen to keep the best grapes and make a wine of his own. Tscharke are leading the way with organic wines that reflect the terroir and the personality of the fruit, in this case grenache from the Marananga sub region. This is a deliciously versatile, luscious Barossa Grenache with just a dash of Mourvèdre (aka Mataro) for complexity and freshness. Some lees fermentation added some texture and body. It's super-refreshing and too versatile to bring to mind an ideal food pairing, you just can't go wrong!

Red wine artisan, Marco Cirillo, has produced a single vineyard Shiraz with as minimal intervention as possible. Using 90% whole berry and 10% whole bunch as well as natural yeast fermentation without fining or filtering, this Shiraz screams of its terroir. Expressive fruit up front of plums and red berries with small waft of leafy characters. The palate dances across the tongue without hindrance from over use of oak and is a supreme wine for the price.

Marco Cirillo, the guru of Grenache. A true artisan, Marco is the custodian of some of oldest Grenache vines in the world and remarkably he tends to each of the old, gnarly bush vines by hand, some standing 6-feet tall! The resulting Grenache that makes The Vincent has beautiful, fine grained tannin along with fruit that is remarkably vibrant and appealing to the palate.
