Founded in 1824, Glenlivet Distillery is one of the truly great names in Scottish whisky. In this very special bottle, Master Distiller Alan Winchester, has combined aged oak casks and American first-fill oak casks, to create an exceptionally smooth single malt. To the nose there are delicate aromas of citrus fruit, and the palate is sweet, with notes of oranges and pears, and hints of toffee apples and candy. Drink it neat as an end of the night tipple, or match it with a grilled rib eye steak with a side of pumpkin mash, to make a meal even better.

A new release from The Macallan and one we were thrilled to learn of. Matured in a combination of American and European Sherry oak almost 50:50, though slightly weighted towards American oak ex-Sherry casks. New oak is shipped from America across to Spain, where expert Coopers craft casks. These casks are then sherry seasoned before traveling to the Speyside distillery to mature for twelve years. These whiskies are then united with counterparts aged in sherry seasoned European oak casks. The result is, as you might expect nothing short of seamless. On the palate youll find some spice along with some green fruits though the meat of the palate remains true to style, featuring fat caramelised sultanas, vanilla and wood spice. Located in the heart London's old spirits industry, East London Liquor Company is an independent British distillery and the first to make spirits in East London for 100 years.
