Balvenie Caribbean Cask was created by The Balvenie Malt Master, David Stewart, who celebrated an incredible 50th anniversary at the distillery in 2012. 14 years maturation in traditional oak casks & finished in Caribbean rum casks. Rich, sweet and creamy toffee on the nose combines with fresh fruit notes. Rounded with vanilla and sweet oak notes, with a fruity character that develops with time. Matured in a combination of refill, Sherry and Bourbon casks, with a greater proportion of refill to allow ‘the sweet yet refined distillery character to shine through’. The whisky, bottled at 40% abv, promises a ‘slightly sweeter’ take on the classic Speyside style used by the Singleton of Dufftown 12 Year Old. It's full on fragrant fresh fruit, rich honey and mellow vanilla, followed by juicy pear, sweet spice and the tingling warmth of white pepper. The silky smooth Single Malt is made to be enjoyed.
