Three friends, including two Australians, went on a trip to Guadalajara, Mexico back in 2005. It was there between sips of tequila that they made a pact to begin the journey to make extraordinary tequila. They found partners in maverick master distiller, Marco Cedano, and his son Rodrigo. These were men skilled in the art of turning blue agave into bottled brilliance. Its smooth, viscous finish emits fresh botanical aromas and tasting notes of mint, pineapple and caramel.

The word Piedra means Stone in Spanish, because this very unique spirit was created entirely from an ancient process whereby a large tahona stone, wheeled slowly, crushes the agave. The resulting juice is then fermented and distilled with the crushed agave fiber, creating an herbaceous and earthy flavor. The taste is sweet, yet rich and complex, combining an herbaceous agave flavour with light vanilla, and fresh mushroom. The finish is long-lasting and remarkably smooth.

El Tesoro Reposado Tequila is straw in colour, aromas of smoky oak with hints of fruit, vanilla and dill. On the palate, there is a robust blend of oak and agave with smoke and pepper.

El Tesoro is the last handmade tequila. It uses traditional distillation methods that take more time, but bring out the true agave flavor. Never watered down. Distilled to 80 proof. The agaves are estate-grown, high up in the Mexican Highlands. The higher elevation agave delivers twice the sugar content giving more flavor in the tequila.Aromas of fresh agave mixed with honey & a touch of green olive. El Tesoro is the last handmade tequila. It uses traditional distillation methods that take more time, but bring out the true agave flavor. El Tesoro slowly age their Añejo tequila in American oak ex-bourbon barrels for two to three years. Imparting a stronger influence of oak but still allowing the spirit to maintain the complexion of agave.Aromas of floral jasmine and oak with agave back notes. A sweet and balanced palate with pepper, oak, floral tones. Hints of maple sweetness and red fruit acidity, vanilla and caramel.
