A plentiful mousse sits atop a pale straw base that has gold tinged edges and a fine persistent bead. Toasty yeast lees scents are intermeshed with baked bread, citrus, light honeyed notes and traces of nut. The palate is tense and sculptured with racy acidity running through toast, subtly honeyed pear, yeast lees and roasted nut flavours. Dry crisp finish with a long aftertaste that builds a sense of creaminess as it lingers. Drink over the next 2-3 years. Alc. 12.5%

Bryan Martin has been producing thought-provoking wines in Murrumbateman wine country since 2001. Their Estate vineyard is managed sustainably, focusing on soil health, and foregoing synthetic chemicals, herbicides, and fertilisers. Fruit is also sourced for their Regional Series from the surrounding Young, Hilltops & Canberra District regions. The 2022 Regional Sangiovese marks the 20th vintage producing this varietal, with fruit sourced primarily from the Hilltops region with a splash of Murrumbateman for elegance. After spending 3 weeks on skins as whole-berries, the wine is pressed to small 5 year old French oak casks for élevage, before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.

These unique conditions produce elegant, expressive wines of exceptional character and a true reflection of their origin. The Four Barrels is a small batch blend put together using four of the best barrels in the winery. Many barrel tastings and blending trials were done to produce a very special wine with unique character using only four barrels. The Four Barrels is an elegant refined wine however it still has great weight and intensity. Drink now or will cellar very well for many years.

The Cool Climate and Granite soils of the Murrumbateman region are perfectly suited to the production of fine wine. These regional characteristics have given the property a long history of sheep grazing and fine wool production. These same soils are now lending themselves to the production of premium wines. Our Pinot Noir was made with fruit sourced from the Long Rail Gully vineyards in the Murrumbateman area. Long Rail Gully Pinot Noir is a medium body wine with great substance and structure. Cherries and sweet fruit dominate the fine palate. Drink now or cellar for added complexity.
