Les Forts de Latour is the wonderful second label of the famous Château Latour of Pauillac. Les Forts lacks none of the legendary power and concentration of its elder brother although it is approachable at a much earlier age. Rich Cabernet influence dominates this wine that comes from Latour fruit that doesn't make the grand vin as well as the younger vine material. The 2009 is considered one of the truly great vintages in living memory and it is in these years that secondary wines like this Forst de Latour really shine. Te Kahu is a wine of richness, with lovely black fruit flavours, hints of spice and long, fine graceful finish. From gravelly soil, it is made very much in the image of good Bordeaux.

Although Bandol produces the most serious red wines in Provence, it still isn't a particularly well known appellation, and chances are most people haven't even heard of Bandol. This intriguing wine is a blend of Mourvèdre (80%) and a dash of Cinsault (15%) and old vine Carignan (5%).

This award-winning wine, from award-winning producer Casa Santos Lima, comes from the Portuguese region of Lisboa (Lisbon), characterised by its sunny slopes and proximity to the ocean. It is a full-bodied, fruit-rich and smooth wine, made from a classic blend of Portugals most famous grapes - Castelão, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Trincadeira.

Valcatrina Tinto has a good concentration on the nose. Rich in aroma with notes of black ripe fruit combined with notes of spices from the ageing in oak barrels. In the mouth it presents good structure with ripe tannins. The aftertaste is rich, elegant and long.

Deep garnet red in colour. Intense complex aromas of dark berry fruits, green leafy herbs and a dark chariness fill the glass. The mouth is consistent with the complexity of the aromas. Dark berry fruits are quickly surrounded by savoury herbs and spices with hints of tar, complimented with fine juicy tannins which fill the mouth and a long dry minerally finish.

With light berry aromas and a soft, fruity palate with a touch of sweetness, this is a very appealing, easy drinking red to enjoy at any time. Try lightly chilled on those warm days, served with spicy dishes.
