The Malabar Chardonnay grapes are grown on the 50 year old, low yielding vines found in the H5 Block of Leogate Estates Brokenback Vineyard in The Lower Hunter Valley. The wine is a vibrant, fresh expression Hunter Valley Chardonnay with a mix of peach and pear flavours, softened on the palate by carefully used French oak barrels. A component of the wine underwent wild fermentation adding complexity and giving the wine a lingering finish.

Extra years in older barrels has intensified the flavour profile of this wine. A well balanced and mature wine, designed to be enjoyed now. This wine shows all the benefits of malolactic fermentation in oak with extended maturation.
