They identify agaves located in the Los Valles region of Tequila, finding optimal conditions for 818 by waiting for at least 7 years for the agaves to reach peak maturity. Taste: Sweet agave and vanilla, with undertones of tropical and citrus fruit. Body & Colour: Brilliant platinum, light body. Aromas: Lemongrass, mild floral elements, chamomile and light minerality. Using 100% Weber Blue Agave, picked at their peak anywhere from 8-12 years old Añejo is aged in French Oak barrels for a minimum of 14 months. In 1999, Guillermo Erickson Sauza decided to bring back the old Sauza family distillery to life. Today he produces Tequila Fortaleza there using 100% stone-milled agave, entirely produced on the estate which lies right in the middle of the town of Tequila. Fortaleza Blanco Tequila is unaged.
