Patrón Añejo is delicate blend of uniquely aged tequilas. All the tequilas are aged in small white oak barrels for a minimum 12 months. A new tequila venture founded by former Test Cricket Captain, Adam Gilchrist. The brand’s name, El Arquero , is Spanish for “The Archer” and “The Keeper”. “That’s where the cricket reference ends,” Gilchrist says. “I wanted something that could stand on its own two feet... I’m not a brand ambassador, I’m a founder. I wanted to do it properly.” Adamant that the brand isn't about celebrity or fanciful stories, Gilchrist is genuinely interested in quality. “We didn’t want to just slap a label on someone else’s juice,” he says. “We wanted something authentically made, traditionally distilled, and clean as it gets. No additives, no shortcuts.” So he and his team partnered with the Báñuelos family, third-generation masters and original founders of Cazadores. Their Destiladora de Los Altos distillery has been quietly perfecting the art for over half a century. The Blanco is aimed at being accessible without compromising proper tequila character. Seven year old agaves are harvested to create a bright, herbaceous aroma leading to a refreshingly crisp palate. According to Esquire Magazine, "...clarity shows in the liquid. The Blanco leads with roasted pineapple, citrus and white pepper before sliding into notes of vanilla and lemon. A small portion is aged briefly in oak, just enough to take the sting out of the back end." 38% Alc./Vol.

Using 100% Weber Blue Agave, picked at their peak anywhere from 8-12 years old Añejo is aged in French Oak barrels for a minimum of 14 months. Its finish is described as spicy and well rounded with flavours of toasted oak, vanilla and butterscotch. This deep, luxurious tequila by 1800 is ideal for sipping.

Named in honour of the man who mastered the art of selecting and harvesting the best blue agaves, el Jimador. It is 100% agave, so look for a rich and smooth mouth feel, and a touch of toastiness from barrel aging. It's perfect for both drinking neat and for mixing.

Bridging the boundary of the Highlands and Lowlands, Glengoyne is a unique distillery in that they don't use peat smoke to dry their barley, rather they simply use warm air. This gives the whiskies produce a feel of grace and subtlety. Their 12 Year Old Single Malt has a nose of lemon rind and candied apples and glimmer of coconut. The palate is dense and flavoursome courtesy of the hand-selected sherry casks that also impart a textured, long lasting finish.

Don Julio Añejo spends more than the minimum requirement of 1 year on oak, and is normally aged between 18 months and two years before it reaches its optimum age and taste profile. As with the rest of the Don Julio range the nose is fruity and floral, but with notes of vanilla and fresh agave, whilst the palate is slightly richer and more full bodied, yet still sweet and rich with citrus characteristics.
