Crafted in typical Mr Mick style, this wine has subtle French oak, smooth tannins, distinctive varietal characters of strawberries and red cherries, a hint of spice and a long lingering finish.

The Reserva Tempranillo blend from iconic Riojan producer, Marqués de Riscal is made from fruit sourced from outstanding vineyard sites that are in excess of 15 years of age. This fruit is able to withstand the lengthy maturation process in oak due to the fine, complex tannin and acid structure. The resulting wine is classically savoury with notes of dark berries and toasty oak. The palate is long and rounded with interesting hint of spice.

Very intense cherry red colour. On the nose is opulent and very expressive, with a base of great quality ripe black fruit, with balsamic notes in the background. On the mouth it has a good acidity, its broad and tasty. Long aftertaste.

What a coup to get this wine into our range. Certainly and deservedly one of the most highly regarded Rioja producers. These are the Riojas from which dreams are made. Think leather chesterfields, smoked meats and cigar-box.

A generous and fruit driven blend of Tempranillo and Shiraz from the Barossa Valley. The varietal cherry and plum flavours from the Tempranillo are supported by blackberry, spice and ripe sweet tannins from the Shiraz. Oak plays a supporting role in this wine, with hints of mocha and cedar. This wine is produced to be enjoyed in its youth while still full of primary fruit character.

Sourced from three vineyards at Leasingham in the Clare Valley this wine is a unique blend of three varieties originating from Spain - Tempranillo, Mourvedre and Grenache. That is why we call it 'The Spaniard'.

Mount Majura, from the emerging wine region of the Canberra District, considers Tempranillo as their flagship variety. It was aged for at least a year in barrel and two in bottle to produce a Rioja of perfect balance and depth. Pagos de Tahola comes from the Chavarri family – Francisco and daughter Ruth form a winning partnership with winemaker Miguel Lopez Nuñez. Their exemplary wines are based on exuberant fruit harvested from mature vines in some of Rioja’s highest vineyards then infused with the signature fragrance of quality French and US oak. Rich aromas of dried berries and vanilla, hallmark red berry and sweet spice flavours and silky texture – impressively smooth. Serve with Spanish style rice dishes or grilled meats.

Spanish big guns, Remírez de Ganuza have produced a quite sublime old vine Tempranillo blend from the famed Rioja region that will defy all expectations. A luscious aroma of asian spicies and black fruits greet the nose before unfurling into flavours of dark berry fruit, cigar box, mushroom and blood plum.
