Rockbare's second label, Mojo Shiraz punches way above it's weight in the quality division. Rich and ripe, this versatile wine would not be out of place at the dinner table or at a BBQ.

Red wine artisan, Marco Cirillo, has produced a single vineyard Shiraz with as minimal intervention as possible. Using 90% whole berry and 10% whole bunch as well as natural yeast fermentation without fining or filtering, this Shiraz screams of its terroir. Expressive fruit up front of plums and red berries with small waft of leafy characters. The palate dances across the tongue without hindrance from over use of oak and is a supreme wine for the price.

Z Wine's Rustica Shiraz is an intense crimson red with purple hues followed by aromas of ripe cherry and red plum which are complimented by hints of pepper and spice with lifted perfumed notes. The palate is warm and full flavoured, displaying generous sweet red fruit, such as cherry, raspberry and plum. These fruits are couple with cedar spice notes and the soft mouth-filling tannins carry the fruit as well as providing structure and length to the wine. This wine is an exemplary example of a lifted, fruit filled Barossa Shiraz suitable for drinking in its youth.

Australia's oldest family owned winery, Yalumba produce a quintessential Barossa Shiraz here with the Octavius. Refined and elegant, its full of incredible fruit complexity that never looks over-ripe or jammy. A true Australian classic.

Made by the nicest man in the business Kym Teusner, this Sparkling Shiraz was made to go with a hearty Barossa Breakfast. However if you don't live in the Barossa, we suggest you drink it at your leisure. Full bodied and juicy, its another wonderful wine from this wonderful producer. Kalleske JMK Vintage fortified has been made in honour of John Malcolm Kalleske who has hand tended the vineyard where the fruit for this fabulous VP is sourced from for over 50 years. Kalleske's first attempt at a vintage fortified has seen it excel beyond belief. A very 'serious' style fortified without any of the candied sweetness sometimes evident in Australian 'ports', but a lip-smacking sweet/savoury blend that is at home more in Portugal than in the Barossa Valley. Outstanding.

A complex, savoury nose of spice and white pepper. Rich plummy fruit with a touch of vanilla and cedary oak characters. This Grant Burge Balthasar Shiraz is drinking beautifully now or for careful medium term cellaring.

Penfolds RWT Shiraz is a big juicy Barossan Shiraz refined by the use of older French oak barrels. 1998 is considered to be one of the classic vintages of the modern age. Drinking wonderfully now but with many years still to come in its development, this is a great addition to any cellar.

Shiraz made with a family story in mind. Its a story about a cow but you will need to buy the wine to find out more. Alternatively you could ring the winery. Estate grown Shiraz from the Greenock vineyard. A quieter style of Shiraz with finesse and elegance.

Strikingly vivid in colour with deep purple and magenta. There are energetic aromatics showing fresh, pure expression of fruit. Aromas of violets, dark rose, sweet plum, spice, licorice and fruitcake emanate from the glass. The palate is bursting with rich and bright dark fruit flavours. Well structured, with natural tannins providing a muscular framework the wine is full in body, flavour and mouth feel. A touch of creaminess leads to a lengthy finish completing this resplendent wine.
