Grapes from Marlborough have produced a crisp Chardonnay with flavours of citrus, nectarine and pineapple and a lovely toasty finish.

The extraordinarily scenic Marlborough Sounds, in Maori the Sounds represent the sunken bows of Aoraki, the canoe that is Mt Cook, are full of gems great food and wine and world famous trout fishing. Marlborough Sounds Chardonnay displays bright flavours of pear and nectarine, backed by minerally notes. There is a lovely subtle touch of oak which is reminiscent of freshly baked bread. The Site: In the Wairau Plains sub-region of Marlborough lies Rapaura, traditionally referred to as ‘the Golden Triangle’ where Heather and Milton Staple’s hand-tended Walnut Flat Vineyard is located. The warm stony site allows for extended ripening, producing beautiful full flavoured and richly concentrated fruit. Like Vines Chardonnay displays flint aromas overlay fresh citrus and white nectarine fruit with a hint of French oak and luscious length.

Wither Hills Chardonnay is an impressive Marlborough Chardonnay that is loaded with citrus fruits and complimented by creamy French oak. An extremely attractive wine that is suited to a wide range of food matches including the traditional Chicken roast.

Another great expression of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, characterised by concentrated tropical aromatics in combination with more delicate floral notes. This translates generously onto the palate, bursting with passion fruit, ripe citrus and fine mineral acidity. Its approachability makes it a perfect aperitif or an ideal accompaniment for everyday cuisine.

In times past, giant, flightless Moa roamed the fertile soils of Marlborough. Big, bold and totally unique as were the legendary Moa, so are the flavours of our Land of Giants wines. The Pinot Gris is rich in aromas of pears, white peach and blossoms. The wine is zesty but balanced with lovely fruit flavours and a lingering finish. Perfect with seafood dishes and creamy pastas.

The journey for the Rapaura Springs wines begins far from the vineyards where the earth claims a share of the Wairau River. After a six month journey, the water is released to a spring that weaves through the vineyard, and provides the crystal clear, pure water for the vines. It also informs Rapura Springs' philosophy that quality begins in the vineyard. They took out top honour in 2015, recognised at the London international Wine & Spirits Competition as the Best Sauvignon Blanc Producer and NZ Winemaker of the Year. Aromas of red apple, quince, pear and some underlying ginger spice. The palate is full, rich and fruit driven and has some lovely acidty, balanced by the natural fruit sugars retained in this wine.

This savvy from the home of the long white cloud offers a bouquet of fresh flavours of tropical fruits, tomato leaf backed by herbaceous characteristics. The palate displays the distinct Marlborough characteristics of guava and tropical citrus fruits that give a rich full rounded palate. Ideally suited to drink with smoked ocean trout or Kahawai with a crisp kale salad and a good squeeze of lemon juice.
