Highland Park 15 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

A superb 15 year old from the Highland Park distillery. The nose is a profusion of ripe floral notes and fresh blossom with a delectable fruit salad. Notes of honeyed exotic fruits with a little botrytis. The palate is creamy and full with fruit conserves and espresso. A creaminess with cinnamon and allspice. Notes of toffee with thick black forest honey with a touch more citrus. The finish is long and well sugared with a herbal edge.

Finlaggan Single Malt (Islay) Scotch Whisky

Islay's historic lighthouse island, Eileen Mor is the name this Finlaggan expression. The island is noted for the mysterious disappearance of 3 lighthouse keepers on the island in 1900. From an undisclosed Islay distillery, Eileen Mor delivers a nose of salty sea breeze, burning leaves and a touch of antiseptic. The palate is rather intensely peated with spicy hints of black pepper. The finish is long with drying peat smoke.Finlaggan is a very decent peated Islay Scotch Whisky at a nice price.Finlaggan is not a distillery, it's a whisky that is from one of the Islay distilleries, but which one is not disclosed, though there are only a few on Islay anyway. The whisky is specially made for Finlaggan and comes from only one distillery. On the island of Islay lies Loch Finlaggan, a place of great importance in Scottish history. In the loch there are three islands, two of which are Eilean Mor and Eileen na Comhairle where the installation of the MacDonald Lords of the Isles took place. The chiefs of Clan MacDonald, chose Finlaggan as their home and the centre of their lordship, so that Islay is often referred to as the Cradle of Clan Donald.

Goodradigbee Single Jarrah

Goodradigbee's Jarrah single malt is completely unique. It is made from Scottish Highland single malt and matured in Goodradigbee's whisky maturation cubes made from Western Australia's imposing Jarrah, an ancient local hardwood. The spirit is young on the nose but genuinely surprises when tasted. Complex flavours compete at first - sweetness and citrus, followed by cinnamon and sometimes, a touch of spice. Jarrah is different, in a good way. Be prepared to be surprised.

Arran Sherry The Bodega Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Tasting note: One of the highlights in the new-look range, this harkens back to some of the earliest Arrans which were mostly matured in Sherry casks. Ginger snaps, cinnamon and fruit'n'nut dark chocolate aromas follow with a lovely dried fruit aspect (figs, dates, apricots). Bold but balanced; drier in the mouth than the nose suggests with fresh dried fruit flavours, leaning towards apricots. Pepper, cinnamon and ginger bread spice up the medium long finish. A flavoursome 'contemporary' sherried style that's different to traditionalists like Glendronach or Macallan. 55.8% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Ardbeg An Oa Scotch Whisky

Rounded and smoky - like burning Applewood - with creamy toffee, aniseed, treacle and dates. A curious suggestion of juicy fruits, such as peach and banana. With a drop of water, reminders of Ardbeg's classic fragrance lime, pine resin, fennel, saddle soap and tar. A gentle waxiness, like fragrant candle wax, and hints of smoked herbs. An Oa gives a final subtle reminder of the sea with briny notes and seaweed but always accompanied with creaminess. A smooth, creamy texture leads into a huge syrupy sweetness, flavours of milk chocolate, treacle toffee, aniseed, orange and smoky tea leaves. Gentle, sweet spices (nutmeg & cinnamon), some cigar smoke, and a very unusual flavour of grilled artichokes. Wood is always present in the spirit, gently nutty and reminiscent of a carpenter's workshop. A long, sweet finish, with floral overtones, mint toffee and some gentle malty biscuit notes.
