Most of Daniel Bouland’s old bush vines are rooted in the Morgon climat of Corcelette, in hilly Haut-Morgon to the northwest of the appellation. Within this area, there are several lieux-dits that Bouland now bottles separately, and Bellevue is one of these. It’s a particularly stony (cailloux means stones) southeast-facing site, with plenty of schist running through the granitic, sandy base soil (much like in Côte du Py). The plethora of rock on the surface traps and radiates warmth, and, as a result, this is Bouland’s earliest-ripening site. The vines were planted in 1951 and 1987. This is made the same way as the Bellevue Sable wine—natural, whole-bunch ferment, concrete tank maturation and no fining—though the vines are on different rootstocks (420A rootstock in this case, specifically designed for terroirs that are very stony and have no topsoil). Vignoble Aucoeur is the oldest family domain of the Morgon village, in the heart of Beaujolais. Arnaud Aucoeur has been voted 2020 Winemaker of the Year by the famous Guide Hachette in France. Delimited in 1924, the “Moulin à Vent” vineyard is mainly made up of shallow granite soils. Rich in manganese, this terroir brings a lot of richness to the wine. The wines are often compared with their cousins of theCôte d’Or in Burgundy. This wine offers a pleasant and balanced nose. It is warm, ripe and powerful on the mouth, withblack-currant flavours, and supported with beautiful tannins.

Lune d’Argent is the heart of Clos des Lunes’ production. They firmly believe in the future of this legendary terroir and its truly original style. With a touch of French oak, the Sémillon is dense and rich, the Sauvignon Blanc refined and precise. This cuvée of dry white wine promises to convey all the magic of Sauternes.

The Estate This vineyard of 50 ha exists since 1946, in the heart of the well-known wine region in Bordeaux, Médoc. The winery is created by the family who are passionate about wine. Currently managed by the grandson of the owner, and keep passing the family tradition and Médoc tradition. This chateau has over 75 years of history. Tasting notes This wine has a very deep ruby colour. The nose reveals a complex bouquet, balanced and well-rounded on the palate with notes of red berries, cherry and violet. You will especially appreciate its fine attack, harmonious evolution, freshness, and fruity aroma which blends into the long and pleasant finish. Food pairing This wine can perfectly go along with grilled red meat, lamb, and cheeses, beef, veal and poultry.
