Made with a blend of only the finest single malts from the Highlands, this whisky is approachable and accessible – fruity and framed by a great balance of spice and vanilla and finishes with a subtle smoky aroma. The illicit whisky trade was risky business indeed. Feared throughout the Highlands was exciseman Malcolm Gillespie and his vicious black dog. Gillespie confiscated the best batches of whisky from smuggles across the Scottish Highlands, blending them into his very own highly convert malt 'Blackhound'. The principal expression available globally is Bell's Original, which comprises up to 40 different malt and grain whiskies. The ‘'heart malt' of Bell's is Blair Athol, while the Speyside malt of Dufftown and the Lowlander Glenkinchie help to shape the blend's character, along with a quantity of Caol Ila from Islay, which adds a touch of island influence. Overall, Bell’s Original may be summed up as offering soft grains and spices on the floral and fruity nose, with a sweet, nutty, malty and spicy palate, which yields just a hint of peatiness.

This special Laphroaig is crafted from carefully selected casks from each of the distillery's key styles - with one notable addition. The heart of this single malt is drawn from a final maturation in new American Oak casks, a rarity used for Scotch whisky maturation. With spirit selected by the master distiller from Quarter Cask, PX Cask and Triple Wood (European Oak casks) and a final addition of 10 Year Old, the whisky represents a subtle blending of peat, oak and sweetness. This is a full-bodied expression, featuring Laphroaig's trademark 'peat reek' matched by an additional layer of complexity and depth brought about by the fusion of the maturation styles and different oaks.

Japanese whisky is not only Suntory or Nikka, there are many other less known distilleries whose reputation continues to grow. And for this new tasting, They choose a blended malt, the White Oak Tokinoka blended malt. The White Oak distillery, located in the city of Akashi (Hyogo Prefecture), was the first to obtain a license for distilling whisky in 1919. Built in 1888 for the production of sake and shochu, at the beginning the distillery produced only blend whisky in a traditional way and specially reserved for the domestic market. Then the site was modified in 1984 to start producing whisky in bigger quantities. The Eigashima Shuzo Company owner of the distillery, produced since 2007 several single malts named Akashi.

Glen Moray Sherry Cask Finish uses only the finest Oloroso casks to mature this extraordinary single malt. The Elgin Classic's unmistakable vanilla and light oak is still evident but, with vibrant dried fruit and earthy, nutty notes of the sherry, the finish is multi-faceted.
