Robert Mondavi unique bourbon barrel-aged wines blend meticulous winemaking with the time-honored tradition of aging fine bourbon in oak casks. Bourbon barrels from a renowned Kentucky distillery lend character and complexity to these special wines. Layered and complex, our Bourbon Barrel-aged Cabernet Sauvignon leaps from the glass with aromas of blackberry cobbler, graham cracker, brown sugar, milk chocolate, coffee and smoke. A palate of blueberry pie, praline, sweet vanilla custard, caramel and mocha is framed by soft, chewy tannins and a hint of toasted oak on the lingering finish.

Robert Mondavi continues to experiment with spirits barrels, their Rum Barrel-Aged Merlot blends the craftmanship of California winemaking with the exotic tradition of dark rum barrel aging. This results in an incredibly bold and unique sensory expression. Following in the footsteps of our Bourbon Barrel-Aged wines, a portion of this Monterey County Merlot is aged in used Rum barrels. These used barrels impart complex nuances of molasses and toasted coconut.Ruby red in colour, our Rum Barrel-Aged Merlot fills the glass with rich aromas of molasses, maple, and black plum. Well balanced flavors of jammy plum and blackberries with toasted coconut, baking spices and rich vanilla lead to a long, lush finish.

I am so excited about Californian wine production - it’s always a thrill to see these wines on our shores. This is pinot with power - smokey and meaty at the fore, which gives way to a dried cherry and pink flower potpourri and sweet baking spice. On the palate it’s silky smooth and delightfully shapely with some punchy acidity give the wine real get-up-and-go. This isn’t so much lithe and supple as it is round in the mouth; almost (but not quite) enough to be stepping outside the bounds of varietal typicity. Structured and bold but ethereal none the less.

Woodbridge from Robert Mondavi. This Californian Pinot Noir offers a ripe berry aroma and flavour with orange zest and spice. Toasted oak aging adds hints of smoke.The bright aromas of Woodbridge Pinot Noir lead with strawberry and cherry notes accented by hints of spice and toast.
