Nick O'Leary Seven Gates Tempranillo - Situated in the picturesque Hall Valley, in the Murrumbidgee River corridor, just outside the ACT, the Nick O'Leary estate incorporates a modern winemaking facility and a mature five hectare vineyard. Since their beginnings, well over a decade ago, their focus has always been to make hand worked Shiraz and Riesling wines that truly exhibit the character of the region as well as expressing Nick's unique personality and style.

Chris Taylor and his team have harnessed the old and new perfectly with their exciting and engaging range of wines. Their La Reto Tempranillo is a lovely balance of old world Spanish characteristics and a modern, perfumed attractiveness. Red berries, plums and hints of liquorice are all present along with a delicious minerality to give this wine that extra dimension.

Spanish big guns, Remírez de Ganuza have produced a quite sublime old vine Tempranillo blend from the famed Rioja region that will defy all expectations. A luscious aroma of asian spicies and black fruits greet the nose before unfurling into flavours of dark berry fruit, cigar box, mushroom and blood plum. Made exclusively from grapes grown on a north-east facing slope in Mudgee, Peter Logan’s textbook Tempranillo made with ‘love and valour’ displays classic spiced cherry, bright red fruits and vanilla notes. Match with duck dishes or d'Affinois cheese.
