Blood red in colour, Earthworks Tempranillo opens with boysenberry, pepper, a hint of charred meats and black forest cake aromas. The Tar & Roses Tempranillo is a great example of what 20 year old Tempranillo vines are achieving in Australia. On the nose there are juicy rich mulberries, freshly dug earth with hints of blackcurrant and aniseed. The palate has impressive length, balance and structure.

The savoury and smooth Tempranillo is complimented by thespicy fruit and structure of Graciano. The resultant wine has greater intensity, depth and length.

The 2014 Yalumba Y Series Tempranillo has aromas of blueberry, black cherry and fennel seed leaping from the glass. It is juicy and plush on the palate with apparent dark berries and mocha tannins. The finish is rustic and savoury. Enjoy with salt and pepper grilled lamb cutlet.
