The Chardonnay grapes used to create Vintage Blanc de Blancs were picked, pressed and then fermented to retain intense fruit flavours. The resulting wine shows a bright straw colour with light green highlights and a beautiful bead. The fragrant bouquet is perfumed with lovely aromas of cream and peaches, with light suggestions of citrus and honeysuckle. The elegant palate is filled with peachy flavours and zesty lemon acidity, offering a silky mouthfeel and a clean finish. This lighter bodied Blanc de Blancs tastes excellent with sashimi, sushi, and foie gras terrine.

A wine of the heart! 2022 is only the second release, after 2018, of Barney’s Flanders’ Mornington Blanc de Noirs. When it comes to the world’s great sparkling wines, Flanders knows his onions; it’s no surprise that he turned to his top vineyard in Merricks as the source. With depth of flavour and freshness in mind, Garagiste’s harvest for the sparkling base takes place roughly two weeks before the Merricks vineyard table wines. In the shed, the fruit is slowly whole-bunch pressed directly to old barriques for a wild ferment without temperature control. Post-primary, it was kept on full solids for 10 months. Put to bottle in January 2023, the wine stayed on lees for 30 months and was disgorged in June 2025 with 3 g/l dosage. Wearing the lightest hint of colour, this is finely perfumed with a bright, red-fruited nose deliciously reminiscent of true Blanc de Noirs styles, along with the accompanying energising acidity, abundant mineral tones and a refreshing finish. Far from frivolous, it’s a perfect aperitif style. Future disgorgements will show more complexity; here and now, this is a terrific wine, with far more sophistication than you might expect at this price.

This sparkling wine is a pale straw/gold colour with a fine and persistent bead. Bready and biscuity autolysis notes from lees ageing are balanced by crisp apples and citrus lift. Vibrant lemony acidity adds drive to a full and rich mid-palate, vigorous mousse and a slaty, mineral persisting finish. 'The texture is soft and swirling, a real triumph. Another great success story of grape grower turned grower/winemaker. Troy Kalleske is the latest custodian of a family heritage that dates back to 1853 when the Kalleske family first planted vineyards in the Moppa sub-discrict of Greenock, in the north-west of the Barossa Valley. This Shiraz (with a touch of Viognier and Petit Verdot) is 100% biodynamic and has concentrated aromas of blueberry, cloves, violets and dried fig. The silken palate that follows has dark fruit and lifted notes of floral with a sublime length of flavour.

A by House of Arras Premium Cuvee has a complex and inviting aroma with nuances of forest floor, nougat, exotic spice and lanolin. The palate has opulent flavours reminiscent of lychee, butter sauteed mushroom, natural yoghurt and fresh oyster.

Lethbridge’s sparkling is a delightful blend of Pinot Noir (49%), Chardonnay (45%), Meunier (4%) and Pinot Gris (2%). The Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris are sourced from the cool-climate Barwite vineyard in Mansfield, while the Pinot Meunier comes from Jack and Lois Doeven’s well-established cool site in Drumborg (Henty). The wine is bottled during primary fermentation. Pouring brightly in the glass and this is pét-nat done right: whistle clean and bursting with fresh peach and juicy red berries, with a lovely zesty finish.
