Our 2019 Bourbon Barrel-Aged Chardonnay is golden straw in color and opens with aromas of ripe, grilled peach, with hints of toasted marshmallow, vanilla bean custard, and baked spiced pear. Rich, creamy, and concentrated flavors of grilled peach, lemon pie crust, graham cracker, vanilla bean, baking spices, and toasty oak lead to a balanced acidity and lingering finish. Buttery Chardonnay is named for the rich, creamy flavorus imparted by its distinct winemaking style. Our coastal California vineyards deliver lush notes of ripe apple and white peach, balanced with bright, mouth-watering acidity. Malolactic fermentation then enchances the wine's body and complexity. Aging on French and American oak adds the finishing touches of brown spice and vanilla aromas and notes of toasty brioche to complement the decadent buttery profile.

The mouthfeel is round and smooth but balanced by bright acidity with hints of stone fruit and honey make for an elegant and perfectly ripened chardonnay from the Central Coast of California.

I am so excited about Californian wine production - it’s always a thrill to see these wines on our shores. This is pinot with power - smokey and meaty at the fore, which gives way to a dried cherry and pink flower potpourri and sweet baking spice. On the palate it’s silky smooth and delightfully shapely with some punchy acidity give the wine real get-up-and-go. This isn’t so much lithe and supple as it is round in the mouth; almost (but not quite) enough to be stepping outside the bounds of varietal typicity. Structured and bold but ethereal none the less.

Ripe, concentrated flavors of black cherry, black raspberry, spiced rum cake, molasses, caramel, brown sugar, baking spices, sweet oak, vanilla, and dark chocolate carry through to a long, lush, and sweet finish.
