A hallmark of the Utopos Vineyard on Roennfeldt Road is the pitch perfect acid to tannin balance we can achieve in fully ripened fruit. This provides for delicious, highly approachable wines in their youth, whilst enabling them to develop over a 10-15 year period, and maybe more.

This wine comes from a meticulously hand manicured small vineyard, that consistently produces superbly concentrated fruit. The cuttings were taken in the late 1960's from the original Penfold vineyard in Magill, dry reared and planted in 1999. This is a rare viticultural practice, and the bravery has paid off in an equally brave wine. True Barossa Valley guts and glory, this demands to be cellared long term. On the nose, you will find brooding forest berry fruits with layers of dark chocolate and black liquorice aromas, with lingering notes of dark cherries. The palate is exceptional. The concentration builds and this wine delivers as one of the best in its class. A distinct individual character has been developed and is rich and fleshy with generous flavours of raspberry, ripe plum and dark berries that are perfectly balanced with hints of kirsh, vanillin spice and savoury earthiness finishing with luxuriously soft tannins.

Expressing nuanced notes of black cherry stone, peppery spice and smooth oak textures, this is a true Barossa Shiraz - showing a sense of place and regionality whilst also embracing our distinctive house style we're so proud of. The Glaetzer family have been part of the Barossa winemaking scene since 1888 and now Ben takes over the reigns and produces Shiraz of the utmost intensity and concentration. Named after the ancient Egyptian god Amon-Ra who was the champion of the poor and troubled and was central to personal piety, the temple of Amon-Ra is believed to be the first to plant a vineyard to produce wine for the citizens of the temple. This incarnation is rich, full-bodied and viscous to the palate, yet with sublime oak integration and a balance on the back palate that is quite lifted allowing it to be paired with many meals and a prime candidate for medium to long term cellaring.

Kellermeister's Wild Witch has garnered a cult following over the past years due to the brooding, rich, full-bodied and limited nature of the Barossa classic. The inky, viscous, foreboding black fruit is sourced from low-yielding, dry grown vineyards specially selected for producing the very best Kellermeister can get their hands on. Langmeil Jackamans Cabernet Sauvignon has developed a deliciously intense perfume of blackcurrants and mulberry with rich dark chocolates after two years in new and seasoned French oak hogsheads. A powerful wine from mature vines.

The 2003 Seven Acre Shiraz displays typical flavours of plum, blackberry with slight hints of pepper and dark chocolate. The lacy tannin structure balances the wine tremendously and really reminds you why Greenock Creek are producing some of the world's best wines.
