The nose offers up good lift with top notes of ripe dark plums, dark chocolate and liquorice followed by some confectionery notes. Lloyd Reserve Shiraz is produced from a single vineyard at Coriole, planted in 1919 by Geoffrey Kay. It was first retained as a separate wine in 1989, and is one of Langton's Classified Wines of Australia. This vineyard typically produces a wine of great intensity and can be cellared for many years. The wine is matured in French oak with typically about 40% new.

“Fortified” is an alternative name for a “Port” style wine. Woodstock Old Fortified has an average age of about 13 years. Wine industry pioneer and Woodstock’s founding father, Doug Collett made McLaren Vale Grenache and Shiraz fortifieds in the 1960’s and 1970’s. He aged them in old Brandy barrels for future generations. Today, his son Scott Collett, continues the fortified tradition at Woodstock with this fine example of an Australian style ‘Tawny Port’.
