A new release from The Macallan and one we were thrilled to learn of. Matured in a combination of American and European Sherry oak almost 50:50, though slightly weighted towards American oak ex-Sherry casks. New oak is shipped from America across to Spain, where expert Coopers craft casks. These casks are then sherry seasoned before traveling to the Speyside distillery to mature for twelve years. These whiskies are then united with counterparts aged in sherry seasoned European oak casks. The result is, as you might expect nothing short of seamless. On the palate youll find some spice along with some green fruits though the meat of the palate remains true to style, featuring fat caramelised sultanas, vanilla and wood spice. For Peats Sake! the distillery manager cried, as Peat, the maltman, put far too much peat into the kiln during malting, causing smoke to billow everywhere. Hand-crafted, full bodied, peated blend with specially selected smoky single malts expertly blended with the finest grain Scotch whiskies. For Peats Sake is an intensely smoky and peaty blended Scotch whisky with an earthy, rich character.

The heart of this blended Scotch is from the Speyside region, and as such it is stylistically similar. Peat and heather on the nose, with a surprisingly light palate. Great neat or with your favourite mixer.

This is a classic, juniper-forward London Dry style gin. Amongst the recipes thirteen botanicals is a nod to Scotland, with native cobnuts and black mulberry. This is a refined, crisp gin with a distinctively smooth finish. Clean and fresh on the nose, whilst the palate offers juniper, pine and lavender. Bright citrus gives away to a soft, round finish.
