Coola Road 2015 Chardonnay has elements of subtle French oak and low yields. These elements used in conjunction with the region's cool climate has enabled this medium bodied Chardonnay to retain its attractive and delicate flinty notes and balanced acidity. Under the winemaking direction of Michael Brajkovich, MW, the village label is the first tier in the Kumeu River portfolio. Toolangi is a state forest just outside Healesville that was devastated during Black Saturday. The excellent vineyards remain, and continue to produce wines of personality and place. The Chardonnay combines varietal characters of quince and crab apple with some delicious nutty oak nuances. Its great value.
