The legend of St George has been the emblem for J Boag & Son since 1881, representing the determination required to make such fine beers. Combining pure Tasmanian water and the finest natural ingredients. A slightly sweet style, mellow and crisp.
Using pale malt and torrified wheat for the malts and Citra and Galaxy hops. Citra hops will bring out those pine and citrus note, Galaxy brings out those passion fruit and stone fruit notes. Its light straw in colour with a slight haze. This XPA is dryer than most.
The unique Stella Artois yeast strain (the very same yeast strain first used by the Artois brewmasters) adds a light to moderate fruity, cooked pineapple aroma and creates a clean, crisp medium bodied flavour with hints of cooked vegetable. The Saaz hop also produces a unique bitterness which is well balanced with the malted barley, giving Stella Artois a subtle but pleasant grainy, sweet finish.
