Many of you will remember Sam Trimboli from his days at Warburn Estate where, every vintage, he’d pick up literally hundreds of awards. He’s still on a winning streak, but now he’s renting space all for himself at a winery in Riverina, New South Wales. Sam makes there the mighty Black Duck, and his white version – the equally fruity and irresistible White Duck. Sam has been in the region for many years, so knows exactly where the best grapes are growing. In 2021, he selected when he wanted them picked too, cool fermenting and adding a touch of citrusy Pinot Grigio to the blend. This is the sort of wine you should never be short of, ready chilled in the fridge. Exuberant with bright melon fruit – serve solo or with a spicy noodle dish.

This Pinot Grigo has distinct varietal aromas of pear and passionfruit with delicate floral perfumes. McGuigan Black Label is refreshing on the palate is with delightful flavours of pear and green apple and a clean citrus finish.

Moondah Brook Verdelho from Western Australia is a bright, moorish aromatic white wine that is pale straw colour, has great tropical fruit with light herbal aromas. Soft texture and well rounded on the palate with hints of lemon.

Imminently approachable and deliciously fresh, Taylors Discoveries Chardonnay is a pale straw with a slightly green hue, with fresh, lifted aromas of peach and subtle tropical fruit characters along with touch of citrus. Taylors Discoveries Cabernet Sauvignon is a vibrant crimson red, with lifted fruit aromas of blackcurrant, cassis and a touch of herbaceous notes. A bouquet of subtle cedar characters from the oak maturation add complexity which works well with its medium body and gentle palate of juicy blackcurrant fruits.
