Made with fruit from vineyards planted in 1901 and 1906 with maturation taking place in seasoned French oak. Deep dark red purple core with black shaded edges and a red purple tinged hue. Exotic dark raspberry, morello cherry, liquorice and red plum scents flood the nostrils followed by some dried herb and vanillin spice notes. Caressing the succulent, mid weighted palate are dark raspberry, red liquorice and dark cherry fruits with vanillin spice, delicate earth, dried herb and pepper elements lying underneath. Opulently textured it has velvet smooth tannins and finishes long, spicy and seductive. Drink over the next 5-6 years. Alc. 14%

The 1850s Grenache, as the name suggests, has fruit that comes from vines that date back over 160 years. Truly remarkable flavours of red fruit, earth and leather notes. This spicy Barossa blend is based on fruit from mature Grenache vines. Ripe plum aromas jump out of the glass and the palate is rich and fruity with velvety tannins providing a lingering finish.
