One of the Margaret River's more celebrated producers, Howard Park have forged a healthy cult following. The 2001 Cabernet Blend is a full bodied red that has developed liquorice and humidor characters beneath a layers of concentrated blackberry.

The bouquet is layered with abundant aroma's of plum pudding, cigar box, blackberries & chocolate. It has an excellent length of flavour, velvety tannins and hints of smoky oak. 71% Shiraz and 29% Cabernet Sauvignon are separately fermented & matured in a combination of new French & American oak before final blending.

Aromas of dark summer fruits set the stage for this gorgeous mid-weight Shiraz. Blackberries, currants and hints of raspberry are balanced against pepper and spice along with smooth French and American oak tannins to produce a wine with great depth of flavour. Awarded a Silver medal by the Melbourne International Wine Competition, so drink now or cellar for up to 10 years.

Full-bodied dry red, deep crimson, almost opaque with purple highlights. Blueberry, blackcurrant, and boysenberry fruit aromas with vanilla and spice characters resulting from extended maturation in very tight-grained oak barrels. Lifted blackcurrant, raspberry, and black olives, with soft, fine tannins and ample sweet fruit flavours. A persistent finish with toasty, spicy oak spilling onto the palate.

This is a rich and complex wine with layers of flavour and soft, fine, well-structured tannins. The wine shows a brick red colour with a rich and complex nose prominent in blackcurrant, tobacco and typical leafy characters with hints of game. There are hints of cassis flavours, cigar box and cedar all combined with lingering gamey note.

A stylish, full flavoured red wine, flaunting intense fresh fruit and "perfumed" characters are evident are evident. A lingering fruit finish follows the satisfying sweetness of the palate. Enjoy chilled
