The wine shows lifted citrus and stone fruit aromas with nuances of toast and mushroom. The palate shows great structure, elegance and persistence of flavour.

An extremely well made wine with distinct pear and freshly cut green apple slice on the nose followed by similar varietal characters on the palate. Innocent Bystander produces a stylish Chardonnay that shows stonefruit melon and vanillin oak on the nose. The palate has lovely creamy mouthfeel and flavours of butterscotch and citrus with minerally acidity on the finish.

Innocent Bystander eminates from Victoria's Yarra Valley and is the brain child of owner, Phil Sexton. This wine is made with Pinot Noir fruit grown on some spectacular vineyard sites in the Yarra Valley, comprising predominantly MV6 clone, with some 114 and 115. Pacha Mama use minimal additives or fining and aim to let the fruit shine through rather than clobbering all over it with heavy oak use or commercial wine-making techniques. Flavours of sour cherry and wild strawberries carry on to the palate complexed by a savoury spice and intriguing earthiness that lingers long after the last mouthful.

Using only 100% fresh Pears from the region, the cider is very much a clean, crisp fruit driven style with all the complexities and taste of real fruit Pear. The luscious mouth fill adds to the great length with a lovely dry finish on every sip.
