Delamotte was found in 1760 and is one of the five oldest Champagne houses. Based in the Grand Cru Village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger in the Cote des Blancs, the house is reknowned for the delicacy and elegance of their cuvees. A blend of 60% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir, and 5% Pinot Meunier, with each grape variety providing structure, fruit richness, and aromatic complexity respectively. 36 months maturation provides an extra dimension of complexity while still retaining the house's trademark clean, fruity elegance. This Blanc de Blancs Champagne is made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes selected in Grand Cru villages from the Côte des Blancs. The signature Taittinger high proportion of Chardonnay (30%) brings elegance and delicacy to the blend, while a quantity of still red wine (15%) produced from the best Pinot Noirs from Montagne de Reims and Les Riceys is added to the final blend.
